Carl Nielson's cracked rim The photo is blurry, so it's hard to tell how the crack may have started. The rim appears to have some braking wear, but the crack isn't through the thinnest material. It looks like the rim bed around the nipple of the nearby spoke may have failed and that the rim wall to rim bed junction may be weak.
