Large brown house spider. This one appears to be a very mature brown house spider that is the largest I can ever recall seeing, about 3-3.5 inches across. I'm trying to figure out how it got so big in my house--probably eating all the other spiders and insects that found their way in. I awoke to find this one about a foot above my head while I was lying in bed. I caught him in a jar and took him out to the backyard.
If you look closely or open the full-size version you can clearly see his head, eyes, and (frowning) mouth.
